2018 Com. Cup Prediction: Powerhouse Match-up

You cannot ask for a better quarterfinals match-up than San Miguel Beermen versus TNT Ka Tropa.

The two squads started the conference in different fashions, SMB struggled why TNT went to the top, right away.

So, which team will get a twice-to-beat edge? Let us examine.

X-FACTORS
Three-Point Makes
Turnovers
Bench Points

TNT is the best in taking down long bombs. They average 11.6 threes per game. While San Miguel is the worst shooting team at 29%. TNT should not get confident because San Miguel has elite sniping squad, led by Marcio Lassiter.

The ability of the Beermen to force turnovers was showcased in their match-up against TNT. They stole the ball 13 times from Ka-Tropa. TNT should not let them do that again because the Beermen are in better sync and focus in the playoffs.

TNT relies heavily on their bench while San Miguel has a powerhouse second-unit led by Christian Standhardinger.

PREDICTION
I expect TNT to shorten their rotation and run a lot of plays through Jayson Castro and Terrence Romeo. The defense of Chris Ross and Alex Cabagnot will be vital.

I expect the bench of TNT to show-up and that will be their weapon against the powerhouse San Miguel.

San Miguel will tighten-up their defense against the three-point shots of TNT and I expect them to hit more threes than average.

So, for game 1, I will put my money on San Miguel winning a close game.
