SBP should not stop with Slaughter, they should try to push for Stanley and Christian

SBP continue their streak of wins in the management circle after they got FIBA's approval for Greg Slaughter to play as local for the newly named Team Pilipinas.

That should make the work of coach Yeng Guiao much easier, from now on. The plan of playing Christian Standhardinger and Stanley Pringle as naturalize player of one game each in the fourth window is now easy to implement.

Checking out the decision letter of FIBA, you will see there that Greg failed to meet the minimum requirement of getting a Philippine passport before he reached 17 years old. But, FIBA did not apply that rule to him and offered the following reasons:
   1. The Player obtained a Philippines passport shortly after the age of 16, namely at the age of 17.
   2. He moved with his family to the Philippines at the age of 19 (in 2007) and is living there until today.
   3. The Player has studied in the Philippines and plays basketball there for the last 11 years.

Of course, it is obvious that Standhardinger and Pringle did not do those three things that Greg did.

That doesn't mean that they cannot try and ask about the status of Christian and Stanley. If a Governing body has the power to make exceptions to their rules, we still have a shot about Standhardinger and Pringle.

Actually, they can even go further and asked FIBA to scrap the minimum requirement.

Overall, if we can secure Standhardinger and Pringle as locals, we could be at the dawn of the Philippine era in Asian basketball.

Just imagine a frontline rotation of Slaughter, Fajardo and Standhardinger. Then you have Marcio Lassiter and Stanley Pringle as your starting backcourt.

We just need the right naturalized player to complete a team that can be the best in our continent.
