2018 Complete PBA Mock Draft - Yes, it includes the 2nd round!

(c) PBA Media Bureau

The draft is finally today! Only one trade had shaken up the draft order. We expect more today and on the eve of the draft!

So, to make you crave more, let me give my final mock draft and my first complete one which means it includes the 2nd round.

FIRST ROUND
#1 Columbian- CJ Perez (#1 in Last Mock Draft)
This is a given already. I do not think Dyip will change their mind. Perez will be much easier to keep and should help them ease some of the hates of the fans.

#2 Blackwater- Bobby Ray Parks Jr. (#2 in Last Mock Draft)
This is a given already. Blackwater will choose the one that Columbian will not pick between Perez and Parks. The trade for Terrence Romeo? Do not expect it.

#3 Northport - Robert Bollick (#3 in Last Mock Draft)
This is also a given. But, you should watch out for a trade just in case a shocker happens in the first 2 picks and one of Perez and Parks is still available.

#4  NLEX - Abu Tratter (#4 in Last Mock Draft)
It will be a shocker if coach Yeng traded Mallari and Marcelo for a non-bigman. So, I am putting my money on Tratter for this pick. Maybe, he saw enough to warrant trading for him. Coach Yeng is great in developing bigs so Tratter should be happy with this one.

#5 Meralco - Javee Mocon (#5 in Last Mock Draft)
There is a big chance that Meralco will go with Mocon. He had a good showing in the draft camp and coach Norman showered him with praises already.

#6 Rain or Shine   -  Bong Quinto (#6 in Last Mock Draft)
Name recognition alone will make Quinto the best choice at this point. Add the connection and this pick is almost a done deal unless a new name rises in the first 5 picks.

#7 NLEX - Jeepy Faundo (#8 in Last Mock Draft)
I have this feeling that if NLEX will keep this pick, they will go for two frontliners. Faundo exhibited athleticism during the draft combined that may have enticed coach Yeng.

#8 Rain or Shine -  Paul Desiderio (#7 in Last Mock Draft)
As of today, Chris Tiu has not officially retired from playing professional basketball. But if they want to get another marketable player, Paul will be their guy. He will also fill the void left by Tiu.

#9 Alaska - JJ Alejandro (#9 in Last Mock Draft)
Alaska is still playing in the finals but they will need to make a pick for this one. I am not confident that Alejandro is their guy but if they go the best-available path, he should be their guy.

#10 Magnolia - Trevis Jackson (#10 in Last Mock Draft)
I have a good feeling that Magnolia will go the best-available route. And at this point, Jackson should be that guy. With a good showing in the D-League and good reviews, he has enough hype to reach #10.

#11 Columbian - Kris Porter (#11 in Last Mock Draft)
They want a bigman and I think Porter is their guy. With his shooting ability, he will fit the "unconventional" system that they are known for. Right?

#12 Phoenix - Jorey Napoles (New!)
A lot of coaches and analysts are raving about him. I think coaches saw that he has the potential to be a competent 3-and-D prospect. He can hit 3s already and he is already a hardworker on the defensive end. If he can sustain that in pros and improved, he could still be a steal at #12.

SECOND ROUND
#1 Rain or Shine - Matt Salem
At this point, I expect teams to take the best-available route. Coach Caloy praised Salem during the camp so he could be their guy for this pick.

#2 Meralco - GBoy Babilonia
If Mocon will be their guy at #5, they will surely pick a bigman for this pick. Babilonia is the next best available center.

#3 Magnolia - Michael Calisaan
Magnolia will take the most promising player remaining in Calisaan. He is a forward who has a gritty style of play.

#4 NLEX - MJ Ayaay
If coach Yeng will go for a player who plays really hard and has good potential, Ayaay will be their guy at this point.

#5 Alaska - Ron Dennison
Alaska loves to draft defensive players. Dennison is known for his work on the defensive end. For him to still be at the board at this point is unprecedented because of his name recognition.

#6 Columbian - Chrisantoni Dela Pena
Dela Pena is a bigman at 6'4.

#7 Rain or Shine - JP Calvo
I expect this pick to be traded. At this point, Calvo's performance in the draft camp will push him as the 19th pick in the draft.

#8 Rain or Shine - Dan Wong
Dan Wong is an unknown commodity other than his shooting ability. His size plus shooting is a good combination for a wing.

#9 Alaska - Jeffrey Ongteco
Height is might in the PBA. Ongteco is the tallest remaining player which should be enough reason for Alaska to choose him.

#10  Magnolia - Oliver Arim
A shooter with good size. There is a chance that he could go much higher.

#11 Phoenix - Kent Lao
Good size for a wing.

#11 Phoenix - Diego Dario
Dario is small but skilled enough to warrant a chance in the PBA.
