Will Columbian Dyip allow CJ Perez to save them?

Other than we are slapped with the reality that our national team doesn't have the quality to even be a part of the 2019 FIBA World Cup, our current run there has told us that one of the future of Philippine basketball is CJ Perez.

CJ currently averaged 13.5 points, 3 rebounds, 2.8 assists, 0.8 steal and 53.7% FG per game in 2019 FIBA World Cup. Yes, he is our top scorer. I am pretty sure nobody predicted that entering the tournament.

The way he scored in FIBA was so smooth and crisp. Add the fact that he is still a rookie in the PBA and you can only salivate of what he could be in the future.

And like it or not, Perez is currently on Columbian Dyip. The most disrespected team in the league. The team that has proven to be a farm team. The team with the worst image in the country.

And suddenly, they have found a cure.

Suddenly, they are holding on to the player that could be the face of Philippine basketball for the next decade. Suddenly, there is a big reason for fans to take a look at their team.

Which means the upcoming 2019 draft is very crucial.

The Dyip franchise is scheduled to be the #1 pick of the upcoming draft. With one conference to go, you can lock a top 3 pick for them already.

And a top 3 pick means Isaac Go or Thirdy Ravena or Joshua Munzon.

Any of the three will give an elite duo that the Dyip franchise can build around. As early as next season, they could rise from the bottom and provide as a great story in basketball.

The question now, do they really want to be saved?
