PBA Analysis: The deepest team in the PBA is Meralco?

The Meralco Bolts are currently at the top of the standings after beating the Blackwater Elite and the San Miguel Beermen.

They may have just beaten the worst roster and the best roster in the league, so it is still hard to conclude anything from their first two wins.

But, there was one thing obvious in their first two games. They have a very deep roster.

In their first game, only Mac Belo and Allein Maliksi recorded double-digit points. But, 13 players contributed to scoring.

In the second game, John Pinto, Chris Newsome, Aaron Black and Reynel Hugnatan tallied double-digit points. And four more players scored seven to 10 points.

It seems like Meralco may have a good claim to the throne of being the deepest team in this tournament, in terms of quantity.

I think, they have the most numbers of average and more than average players. I am talking about Pinto, Newsome, Belo, Quinto, Almazan, Jackson, Hodge, Caram, Hugnatan, Maliksi and Pasaol.

And as we saw in the first two games, coach Norman Black is being creative in taking advantage of the great depth of his team.

Will this be their number 1 weapon this season?

I think, yes.
