PBA Analysis: Is Mac Belo the key for Meralco to beat Ginebra?

Meralco Bolts and the Barangay Ginebra San Miguel has been in a lot of Finals and playoffs series in the past several years.

Unfortunately for the fans of the Orange Nation, we cannot really call it a rivalry as Meralco has been defeated in every instance.

Fortunately for Meralco, they traded for Mac Belo and in a way, coach Norman Black explained to Spin.ph why he can be crucial in beating Ginebra.

He said that playing against Ginebra requires that the team should have a very deep frontline. So that if there is foul trouble, the team will still have quality frontline minutes.

Here is the problem though with the logic of coach Norman Black, Ginebra also just added a center in Christian Standhardinger.

Sorry, he is not only a center. Christian is easily a top 3 center and arguably a top 5 player in the league.

Even with the addition of Mac Belo, the difference in depth is just the same as last year as Christian was gotten using a player that did not play last year.

But, Mac can still be the key in one path of beating Ginebra.

What path?

It is for Meralco to find the most versatile and exchangeable team in the series, providing different problems to Ginebra.
