PBA Analysis: Ginebra should blame coach Tim Cone, right?

In the social media account of coach Tim Cone, he posted this, "I can’t find the words to express our sorrow and embarrassment over our performance in the bubble. We didn’t live up to the Ginebra legacy, and that was totally my fault. I apologize to the Ginebra nation. All I can say is that it won’t happen again as long as I am the coach."

After that was posted, some or maybe the majority of the fans actually were moved and start defending coach Tim. Actually, even analysts defended him.

Here is my problem with that though, the fact that they added a top 10 player without sacrificing anybody to a championship core, has not changed.

In the PBA, the two most important ingredient in winning the championship is size and talent. Ginebra is overflowing in both.

That is the reason why being eliminated in the quarterfinals and only managing to win four out of eleven games will never be acceptable.

And, we cannot actually use chemistry issues as a defense because all of the top teams in the league added a superstar. Only Ginebra failed to live up to the hype of their roster.

The reality is, coach Tim Cone failed to maximize the power of his roster. Injuries? Did you count the number of injuries and missed games of the other teams like San Miguel and TNT?

Respect to coach Tim Cone for accepting what he failed to do. The good thing for him is, he will still have an elite roster for the upcoming tournament.
