PBA Analysis: Northport can win a championship if...

Northport Batang Pier was one of the most interesting teams in this tournament because of the arrival of Greg Slaughter and the return of Robert Bolick.

Unfortunately, they can only manage to reach the quarterfinals and were delivered a sweep-off by the San Miguel Beermen.

That did not dampen the spirit of Robert Bolick who still thinks that it is only the beginning for them and that he is very excited about their next chapter.

I am also very excited and at the same time very worried about this upcoming tournament break knowing their relationship with the San Miguel Corporation.

I really think that Northport has the pieces to make a run for the championship. They have arguably three top 25 players in Robert Bolick, Greg Slaughter and Sean Anthony.

And a plethora of modern and in-prime pieces in Jamie Malonzo, Kevin Ferrer, Troy Rike and Sidney Onwubere.

I think, they suffered a lot from chemistry issues which means that their chances of winning the crown will go higher as long as they retain their current core.

If the upcoming conference will be an import conference, they may actually have a very good chance.

They just need to avoid trading any one of their core pieces.

Yes. Not the easiest thing to hope for.
