PBA Controversy: Ligang Labas violators fines are NOT ENOUGH?

The PBA fined several players for their involvement in unsanctioned tournaments. Jio Jalalon of Magnolia received a P100,000 fine for being a repeat offender, while Beau Belga of Rain or Shine and JR Quinahan of NLEX were fined P70,000 each. All three were teammates in an unsanctioned match playing for Northball.

Rey Nambatac of Rain or Shine, Arwind Santos of NorthPort, and the Converge duo of Barkley Ebona and Alec Stockton were also fined P50,000 each. San Miguel's Vic Manuel and Allyn Bulanadi were similarly fined.

The PBA warned all offenders of stiffer fines if they repeat the same action. A memorandum was approved by the league after Jalalon's case, pegging a fine of at least P50,000 for those caught violating the league's policy on unsanctioned tournaments.

The league also clarified that all players caught violating the policy will be penalized, regardless of their team affiliation. The PBA Commissioner Willie Marcial met with the players before handing down the sanctions.

All players, except for Nambatac and Santos, were present in the PBA office when the league handed down the penalties. Marcial talked to Santos and Nambatac earlier.

Did the violators get what they deserve or was it too much?

I think, the PBA should have provided additional suspension in terms of number of games. That way the teams will also be forced to be strict about it and be vigilant in monitoring their players.
