PBA Free Agency: Converge wants Arwind Santos?

Arwind Santos has left his future in the hands of Governor Dennis 'Delta' Pineda. At 42 years old, he revealed that his next career move depends on his 'tatay-tatayan' (father figure), referring to Gov. Pineda.

Santos explained that his agent Danny Espiritu is also waiting for instructions from his 'tatay-tatayan.' Santos has handed over the decision-making to him.

The veteran basketball player made headlines when he joined Pampanga for the 2023 Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL) playoffs, which came as a surprise since he had been a fixture in the PBA for many years. However, he was not offered a new contract by NorthPort after his previous deal expired in August, making him an unrestricted free agent who could choose his next move.

This move also brought Santos back under the mentorship of Gov. Pineda, and he decided to let the long-time sports figure make decisions on his behalf regarding his future.

In addition to the MPBL, Santos has taken on a new role as the commissioner of the National Basketball Championship Inter-High (NBCIH), which adds to his busy schedule. He shared that managing an executive position and his current commitment to the MPBL might be sufficient reasons for him to consider retiring from his PBA career.

Santos stated that while he enjoys his new roles, he still has a desire to return to the PBA and experience championship glory once more before concluding his career.

He expressed his motivation to retire in the league, potentially with San Miguel, playing a few more games, and winning another championship for a better exit.
