Renowned PBA insider Snow Badua has once again sparked speculation with his latest social media post regarding the Magnolia Hotshots. With their campaign already over, Badua suggests that Magnolia could be exploring trade options—but intriguingly, he points out that their "usual trading partner" is still in the semifinals.
It doesn't take much reading between the lines to realize that he could be referring to NorthPort Batang Pier, a team that has frequently engaged in transactions with Magnolia in the past. Could this mean that a trade is already lined up, just waiting for NorthPort's campaign to end?
Is Arvin Tolentino Headed to Magnolia?
One intriguing possibility is Arvin Tolentino moving to Magnolia, once NorthPort is done with the ongoing tournament. Tolentino, a versatile scoring forward, fits the bill of a player who could elevate Magnolia’s lineup and push them back into contention.
Badua also mentioned that Magnolia only needs "2 or 3 players to regain super team status." If this trade happens, it would be a significant boost for the Hotshots, who are looking to bounce back in the next conference.
Should Magnolia Fans Be Concerned?
However, this potential trade also raises concerns. Over the years, Magnolia has lost key players like Jio Jalalon and Rome Dela Rosa in deals that haven’t always worked in their favor. If this rumored transaction involves giving up one of their key young talents or valuable rotation pieces, fans might have reason to worry.
Still Hopeful This Isn't True
While the rumors are gaining traction, nothing is official yet. Magnolia fans can still hope that this isn’t another case of a one-sided deal. The Hotshots' management must ensure that any move truly strengthens the team rather than just following a pattern of questionable trades.
For now, all eyes are on NorthPort’s semifinals campaign—because once it ends, the real fireworks might just begin.
