San Miguel Beermen’s Next Move? Snow Badua Hints at Potential Trades
A recent trade rumor from Snow Badua suggests that the San Miguel Beermen are preparing for a frontline reinforcement and a scoring wingman, possibly signaling a roster shake-up in the coming weeks. With June Mar Fajardo’s age and mileage in mind, SMB is reportedly looking to acquire fresh talent to maintain its dominance.
Based on Snow Badua’s cryptic message, the following trade scenarios could be in the works:
Trade #1: San Miguel-Terrafirma
San Miguel receives:
- Louie Sangalang (Terrafirma)
- Kemark Carino (Terrafirma)
Terrafirma receives:
- Moala Tautuaa (San Miguel)
At first glance, this trade is heavily in favor of San Miguel. While Tautuaa is the best player in the deal right now, Carino and Sangalang are much younger, with years ahead to develop. Carino, in particular, is an interesting project big who can provide defensive versatility.
However, if Terrafirma is indeed sending two promising young big men for an aging Tautuaa, the team must negotiate for additional assets to even out the deal.
Trade #2: San Miguel-Northport
San Miguel receives:
- Will Navarro (Northport)
Northport receives:
- Chris Ross (San Miguel)
- Jeron Teng (San Miguel)
If true, San Miguel is once again the clear winner here. Navarro is an athletic, defensive-minded forward who fits the Beermen’s long-term plans. He can switch on defense, score inside, and shoot the occasional three-pointer, making him a valuable addition.
For Northport, acquiring a veteran leader like Chris Ross is not a bad move, but at this stage of his career, he does not move the needle for a rebuilding team. Jeron Teng is a solid player, but he hasn't proven to be a game-changer.
Final Verdict: San Miguel Wins Again?
If these trades happen as hinted by Snow Badua, San Miguel once again comes out on top. They get younger while still acquiring impact players to complement Fajardo. The only way Terrafirma and Northport can justify these moves is if additional assets (picks or young players) are included.
However, this is the PBA. If there’s a "WILL", there’s always a way—and SMB always seems to find it.
