Rhenz Abando vs. Snow Badua: The MPBL Rumor That Sparked a Facebook Clash

A fresh wave of controversy has swept Philippine basketball, as Rhenz Abando and Snow Badua found themselves in a heated online exchange over rumors about Abando’s future. The issue? A claim from Badua that Abando was set to take his talents to the MPBL, which Abando quickly dismissed as fake news.

This led to a social media standoff, where Badua and Abando traded jabs, with tensions escalating until a face-to-face challenge was thrown into the mix.

The Rumor That Started It All

Snow Badua, known for his bold trade rumors and insider scoops, first ignited the issue with a post claiming that Abando might join either the Abra Weavers or Cebu Classic in the MPBL. Badua even stated that Abando was personally recruiting players to join him.

However, Abando immediately denied the report, dismissing it as baseless speculation. The denial did not sit well with Badua, who responded aggressively, leading to a back-and-forth exchange between the two.

From Online Beef to a Personal Challenge

As the tension escalated, Abando went beyond words, seemingly challenging Badua to settle things in person. Instead of backing down, Badua doubled down on his stance, posting:

"Tatlo nang mga big boss tunatawag sa kin na emisaryo ni RHENZ ABANDO. At TATAWAG DAW SIYA NGAYON SA KIN. Bakit? Di ako sumasagot ng di ko kilalang number hahahaha. Di nyo pala kakayanin ang pressure, kumana pa kayo. Sus."

He even included a photo of himself flipping the middle finger, further provoking the situation.

Badua Suddenly Pumps the Brakes

After a fiery exchange, Badua suddenly changed his tone, revealing that he was contacted by Jeremy Go of Go For Gold PH and Scratchit, a known backer of Philippine basketball. In a later post, Badua said:

"Behave muna ko. Tinawagan ako ni boss Jeremy Go... Ito pagbibigyan ko. Wag muna natin i-topic yung injured kaya nade-depress sa buhay. Behave na ko di muna ko kikibo. Sa text na lang niya ako mag base if tuloy o hindi."

It appears that pressure from key figures behind the scenes led to Badua stepping back from his earlier tirades.

Final Thoughts: Is There Truth to the MPBL Rumor?

Despite the intense social media battle, there is still no concrete evidence that Abando is heading to the MPBL. His camp remains firm that he has no such plans, and the player himself has outright denied any truth to the rumor.

However, with Badua suddenly going quiet after initially standing by his claim, the situation remains intriguing. Was there really a plan in place that got shut down? Or was this just another case of basketball rumor mill drama gone too far?

For now, one thing is certain—this isn't the last time Snow Badua will be at the center of a basketball controversy.
