There is no question that Thirdy Ravena will be remembered forever in the history of Philippine basketball by being the first one to take a full shot in having an International league career after developing his skills here in our homeland.
In a surprised revelation by Mr. Homer Sayson in his latest article, Thirdy decided to take a pay-cut when he chose to play in Dubai and be the first homegrown Filipino basketball player to play in Euroleague.
Unfortunately for Thirdy, he was not given enough opportunities to show his wares. He is now a free agent after he was but by his team in Dubai.
Now, what is next for him?
According to Mr. Sayson in his recent column, teams from Japan B League are interested to get him back. The guy was a do-it-all player in that league.
But, looking at his age and the reality that the next draft of the PBA is in 2027, it seems like Thirdy should really consider joining.
By 2027, he will turn 30 already. By this age, he will only have 4 to 6 years left of his athletic prime to carve out a legacy in the league.
Unless he does not want that time frame. Also, Ginebra has a good chance of taking the #1 pick. So, that should be another reason to join.
