2017 Com. Cup Import Power Ranking: NBA Veterans!

(C) PBA Media Bureau
I am hoping you are enjoying the All-Star Week! Let me grab the chance to rank the imports of each team!

#12 Keith Wright
The decision to replace James White with Wright was not a right decision. 20.5 points, 12.0 rebounds and 3.0 assists will not cut it with the competition at hand. Maybe Mahindra is not about competition right now.

#11 Shawn Taggart
Shawn is putting up good enough numbers to help Rain or Shine win 4 of their 6 games with him. But 24.8 points, 48.1% FG, 12.0 rebounds and 2.5 assists is not good enough to enter the top 10.

#10 Donte Greene
A lot of people anticipated the impact of Donte Greene to the PBA because of the 200+ NBA games under his belt. His 26.6 points per game is the 5th highest in the league but it comes with 38.6% shooting.

#9 Tony Mitchell
The Star are being patient with Mitchell. His 21.3 points, 50.9% FG, 33.3% 3FG and 13.9 rebounds are not that buzz-worthy. His 2.9 blocks, does. That is the 2nd best in the league and a great weak side shot-blocker is a huge plus for any team.

#8 Malcolm White
White has been a steady force for the Globalport Batang Pier. He was a true inside gladiator as shown by his ability to force his way inside. He is shooting 68.4% near the rim and in 4 games, his FG% never went below 50%.

#7 Charles Rhodes
Even though he is playing with the most loaded team in the league, Rhodes is proving that he is a legitimate scorer. He is putting up 28.2 points per game in 63.8% shooting. Other than his scoring ability,

#6 Alexander Stephenson
Defensively, Stephenson is arguably the best in the league right now. His positioning is in a different level. One underrated aspect of defense is rebounding and he is the 2nd best in the league with 22.0 per game. But in terms of rebounding %, he is the best.

#5 Wayne Chism
Wayne has been the man for coach Yeng Guiao in the last three years and he did not disappoint this season. Wayne is carrying the load for the NLEX Road Warriors which led him to put up 26.6 points, 17.3 rebounds and 2.3 assists per game.

#4 Justin Brownlee
I was not a big fan of the decision to use Brownlee for this tournament but he is making me ma believer as the games go by. One amazing number that shock me is his 84.4 defensive rating, top in the league.

#3 Greg Smith

If you want to see an NBA-caliber player, watch every Blackwater game. Greg has been a 20-20 machine in the league and he is making it look pretty easy. The tantalizing number is his 4.4 dimes per game, the second highest mark for an import. Imagine if he is playing with a better team.

#2 Jameel Mckay
If there is an award for the Best Scouting Department, Phoenix will win it. They managed to replace an unstoppable player in Eugene Phelps with a versatile monster in McKay. He is an elite inside scorer, rim protector and rebounder. He is putting up 28.3 points, 19.2 rebounds, 2.0 assists, 1.8 steals and 2.3 blocks per game.

#1 Cory Jefferson

What is the most important skill in basketball, today? Three-point shooting. Cory has put up a clinic in the PBA with his 3.4 long bombs per game in 53.1% efficiency. He is not only a shooter but he is a legit scorer as he is the #1 scorer, so far.
