2017 Gov. Cup Imports - Introduction! San Miguel, Rain or Shine

San Miguel will try to complete a grand slam. Rain or Shine is aiming to bounce back. Globalport wants to show something special.

And these are the imports that will lead them:

WENDELL McKINES
San Miguel

He is no doubt a scorer. He puts up 28.3 points in 52.2% shooting in his career in the PBA.

He is very quick in taking advantage of driving lane and athletic enough to finish with precision in the rim.

He can also finished in traffic in the paint. He is not afraid of contact.

His experience in the PBA will help connect right away with the Beermen.

His outside shooting is suspect. Fortunately for him, he is joining a team that don't need shooting, that much.

JD WEATHERSPOON
Rain or Shine

He is not the most athletic import that I have watched.

None the less, he scores pretty well inside. He has a strong body and utilized it pretty well.

His positioning inside is sound. Combine that with his strength, makes him more effective.

He should be strong enough to defend anyone inside but I don't think he will be an elite defender outside the paint.

He has a midrange shot. Not much of a handle but if he can turn his midrange shot into a deep shot, he could worked, pretty well.

JABRIL TRAWICK
Globalport

Another savant slasher. He is not that athletic but he is slim and quite long. His eye-and-body and coordination is great, making him very elastic in his drives.

I don't think he is that skilled. He has good vision which translates into timely passes.

He is not much of a rebounder. He is much of a wing player. So, don't expect him to play inside.

He can defend. That should be a good thing for Globalport who really need a lockdown defender.
