Trade Analysis: Rain or Shine gave away Jeff Chan for cheap?

Rain or Shine has not failed to surprised the hell out of us! After the surprising Yeng Guiao departure and Paul Lee trade, Rain or Shine made a shocking move of shipping Chan to Phoenix for Mark Borboran and their 2020 2nd round pick.

So, is the trade fair?

Yes! The two players provide something different to the teams that they are playing. The 2020 2nd of Phoenix push the value of Mark into the acceptable fair level in comparison to Chan.

TEAM ANALYSIS
Rain or Shine Elasto Painters

Received Mark Borboran and 2020 2nd Phoenix
Send Jeff Chan

Value wise, Rain or Shine got a fair value. The problem is, the name of Jeff Chan and his pedigree should have gotten more. Did they not try to talk to Ginebra who is in need of a shooter? Or the teams at the bottom who need some star power?

Nevertheless, I like what Borboran will bring to the Painters. He is malleable, position-wise. He can play from the 2 to 4 position. We can even say that he is a big underrated if his three-point shooting continue to rise.

Overall, the move helped Rain or Shine in the present and in the long term.

Send Mark Borboran and 2020 2nd Phoenix

So, Phoenix wants to continue to pack their team with shooters! Their offense will surely improved but what about their defense? I just don't see the need to add another shooter if you already have Wright, Alolino, Wilson and Jazul. I mean, exchanging an all-around forward for another wing shooter was not a good exchange.

Nevertheless, Chan is not just a shooter. His chops makes him a real vacuum on their offense, providing better shot-quality for their teammates.
