2017 PBA Draft Quick Analysis - #3 to #5 Picks - Bigs went first and then Alaska got the price

#3 Raymar Jose - BWE

Now, I understand more the Art Dela Cruz trade. Blackwater planned to take a big in this draft so they decided to send an injury prone ADC for a high upside Chris Ellis. Raymar Jose will not be the giant stopper that every team needs today but he should be able to withstand at least a quarter against them.

The guy is hardworking and really wants to succeed. That trait should propel him, somewhere special.

#4 Jason Perkins - PHX

Phoenix wants a bigman and Perkins is the best available. He is an intelligent player even in developing himself. That trait could make him a versatile weapon for the Fuel Masters. He can shoot, pass, score inside and even make threes.

#5 Jeron Teng - ALA
Alaska wants a frontliner but the best two available after Standhardinger went before them. Nonetheless, this is a blessing in disguise. Alaska badly needs a player who can crack the defense. Teng is a very big guard who can pass and rebound. His shooting should still develop but I expect coach Alex to push him in that aspect.

By the way, imagine him and Calvin Abueva running together.
