2017 PBA Draft Steals - The Bigmen!

To get the top three prospects in the draft is always the #1 wish of any franchise. In the PBA, there is only one way to add up young prospects without sacrificing anything. That makes the PBA draft a very important event.

Other than getting the cream of the crops, teams are also salivating to get one draft steal! For the 2017 draft, who are the best draft steal candidates that will follow the paths of Jeff Chan, Jimmy Alapag and Beau Belga?

Could it be a bigman?

Lervin Flores
He is the wildcard of the PBA draft. He is reckless abandon. When he decides to attack the basket, he will not respect anybody and doesn't care about his body. He can fly and that has help him become a pretty good defender.

I would be very intrigued to see him play for a fast-pace squad who will give him minutes with above-average pick-and-roll point guards.

Jon Gabriel
His blocking ability is the best for this batch. The timing is fine and his rebounding is not bad. His biggest problem is his offense that you cannot even respect. Gabriel is a long shot but if he can find a team that needs his rim protection and help him develop, he could be something.

Arvie Bringas

Yes. The former high-school phenom will take a second-shot on basketball. After an amateur career that was full of disappointments and injuries, it will be hard to see him drafted in the PBA. The guy is already 27 years old. Potential is hard to apply to him already.

But maybe. Just maybe. A team can give him the time to turn back his body and attention to basketball and from there, reach his potential.
