PBA 2017 Mock Draft 2.0: "Unknowns" Fell to Rain or Shine and Star

We are five days away from the arrival of the newest warriors in the PBA! After a big and disappointing news about the SMB-Kia propose trade, how should be shake-up the mock draft? The draft combine is also over. Who helped themselves in that event?

Let us find out.

#1 Kia Picanto - Christian Standhardinger
Kia still has the #1 pick. So, Standhardinger is still their man because they really really really need a big man to build around.

#2 NLEX Road Warriors - Kiefer Ravena
The draft combine just strengthen the case of Ravena as  the newest face of the Road Warriors. Coach Yeng could be drawing up a playbook now around the Alas-Ravena combo.

#3 Blackwater Elite - Jeron Teng
I am not so optimistic now that the Elite will pick Teng. They could go for Perkins who will be a bigger partner for Belo who could be better as a forward playing outside.

#4 Phoenix Fuel Masters - Jason Perkins
Perkins is the best fit for the Masters. Willy Wilson can build him up as his hair apparent. No, he should be a much better version than Wilson.

#5 Alaska Aces - Robbie Herndon
Robbie went for 23 points beside Ravena in the draft scrimmages. Robbie is the athletic freak who can create his own shot that the Aces is looking for.

#6 Globalport Batang Pier - Davon Potts
Coach Franz Pumaren will go for basketball IQ, consistency and flexibility. Potts will be his guy.

#7 Rain or Shine Elasto Painters - Raymar Jose
The skill level of Jose is not yet there and that could push him to a slide in the draft. Rain or Shine will be more than happy to grab him and help their shallow frontcourt.

#8 Star Hotshots - Rey Nambatac
I still can't believe that I am predicting Nambatac to fall this low but it could really happen. Getting him could force the hands of Star into trading one of Melton and Barroca.

#9 Phoenix Fuel Masters - Zach Nicholls
Zach is fast. Zach can shoot. Perfect for Phoenix.

#10 TNT Ka-Tropa - Lervin Flores
His athleticism and nose for the rebounds makes him a nice prospect. He can even develop an outside shot and his defense could be much better.

#11 Brgy. Ginebra San Miguel - Jett Manuel
Ginebra is loaded in the frontcourt. Thompson and Mercado are capable of playing the wing. So, how about a possible bench-spark in Manuel? He can shoot threes and make plays.

#12 Phoenix Fuel Masters - Joseph Gabayni
He is tall. Phoenix may look to add size with their last pick so Gabayni could be their last dip. He is the tallest pure local and his positioning inside looks good.
