According to the owner of Blackwater, Dioceldo Sy, he only appeared once in their training. What makes it very mind-boggling though is the fact that his contract is already expired and Blackwater is actually willing to trade him.
The guy has been bothered by injuries all throughout his career. If you remember, he was highly touted entering the league because of what he shows in his stint with the National Team.
He was the partner of Hodge in making rim-destroying dunks. Dunks? Yes, he was the best in the PBA in doing that.
So, it is easy to conclude that his career could be over. My hypothesis is, he was truly hurt by the Ginebra trade that he lost the self-esteem to play again.
Injuries has been plugging him so the possibility of it, creeping in his mind and confidence is there.
If you have been reading my blog for a while, you should be familiar now about my hopes for Ellis. I never gave up on him. Why? Because he is the most athletic player in the league!
And for today, I will still hope that he will return one day and at least make some redemption.
