2017-18 Phil. Cup Team Power Ranking: The Top Six

So we saw the bottom six, yesterday. It is time to know who are my top six. The six teams that I expect to battle it out for the crown.

#6 Globalport Batang Pier
Globalport deserves to be at this spot, mainly because they have the best offensive duo in the league. Stanley Pringle and Terrence Romeo are two of the top 5 guards in the league, no doubt. I don't know if there chemistry can still improve but if the team around team start to fall into the right place, playing around them, you better watch out for this squad.

#5 TNT Ka Tropa
Jayson Castro is still the main man of TNT but if they really want to be a better contender this year, this should finally be the year that Castro pass that role to Rosario or Pogoy. Don't tell me you are asking me why? He is already 31! And for a guard that had been playing and leading two squads, TNT and Gilas, for the last half decade, that is already old.

#4 Magnolia Hotshots
Paul Lee was supposed to takeover last season. Unfortunately, he disappoints. His production last season was only 13.3 points, 4.1 rebounds, 3.5 assists in 40.3% FG and 35.6% 3FG. Sounds good but not good enough. That production could be fine though if Jio Jalalon and Ian Sangalang show improvement in the weaknesses.

#3 Alaska Aces
Aces was wise enough to catch Jeron Teng and Davon Potts in the draft. But, there presence could mean that most anticipated 30 minutes playing time for Abueva is not coming this season. Still, Teng and Potts could create the size and versatility that will make the wing and guard position of Alaska, one of the best.

#2 Brgy. Ginebra San Miguel
With the return of Greg Slaughter, Ginebra is again the tallest team in the All Filipino Cup. With their size and with the talent that they have in their guard rotation, the most popular ball club in the country will surely have a deep playoff run. Their biggest question will be, is their frontcourt prepared for the animalistic bigs of the Beermen?

#1 San Miguel Beermen
You may hate them all you want because of the way the manipulated the league in getting picks and players to retain their might but you still need to applaud them for doing everything in their power to remain as the most talented team in the league, for almost a decade now. Standhardinger may not play in the All Filipino Cup but that is fine with the personnel that they have.
