TNT Need a Savior? Trade for Belga!

TNT is on the brink of missing the playoffs. That will be disastrous for a franchise that has been a fixture of the All Filipino Cup playoffs.

The All Filipino Cup was the playground of the Ka-Tropa in the past. Remember their three-peat in 2011-2013? That was a helluva of a run.

If you count the fact that their main guys were also representing the country in International games, you may ask the question, could they have won more in that era?

In last year's Philippine Cup, they grappled San Miguel to a game 7. Before the Beermen went to the Finals and destroyed Ginebra.

In short, they were the largest roadblock in the Conferencer, to the #1 most loaded team in the league.

This season, they are holding-on into the eight spot. And their two remaining games? Those are against Globalport and NLEX. Two squads that they are fighting against, in the middle.

With the injury of Troy Rosario, they need to make a statement trade. A trade that will tell the PBA universe, that their hunger for the title remains to be the same.

They need to convince Rain or Shine to give up Beau Belga.

Why Belga? Three simple reasons.

They badly need a bigman. Troy Rosario is out, because of the hard fall that he suffered against Phoenix. That led to Kelly Williams and Mo Tautuaa playing 36 and 32 minutes, respectively, against Ginebra.

Those two are very good bigs, but playing both of them for more than 30 minutes a game will be a negative.

They need physicality. Physical teams like Rain or Shine and Alaska are having renaissance season, because of the rise of pushing, shoving and hitting in the league.

TNT is on the soft side. Adding Belga will surely push them to the physical side. Just imagine him and Tautuaa inside.

Mentorship. Moala Tautuaa and Norbert Torres are tall and huge, who still have time to develop into something better.

For the sake of the future of their franchise, they need Belga. He will show Mo and Nor the tricks of the game, in terms of banging bodies inside.

If the trend of officiating remains to be physical, having two physical monsters could be a franchising changing development.

TNT is short on time. They already have a game tomorrow. Will they do it?
