Magnolia-NLEX Game 5 Controversy: Were the referees in favor of Magnolia?

One of the longest "myth" in basketball is the payed referees. Of course, that was proven in the past, already, but still, nobody wants to accept that their favorite team did that to win a game.

In the game 5 of the semifinals series between NLEX and Magnolia, it reached another level that could be hard to stomach.

See it here:

That was pretty obvious. Of course, Paul Lee was not intending to injured Kevin Alas but how in the hell did the two referee who have great positions, missed that call?

The feet of Paul Lee was moving towards Kevin Alas who  was moving towards the basket! That was unacceptable miscall!

And the worst part about the non-call? Alas got injured. And the saddest part about that injury? Alas will miss the entire season.

The question is, was that just a break of the game? Those calls that you can accept because referees were just humans.

It is up for you to decide.

But one thing to take note about that call. After that call, the officiating was pretty balance, until some questionable whistles were heard in the 4th quarter. Majority, were against the Road Warriors.

If I am going to pay a referee, I will not pay him to make sure that we win the game. That will be pretty obvious. I will just pay him to give me some questionable calls in the 1st quarter, when the game is still undecided, and in the crucial 4th quarter.
