Should Alaska Enter the Sweepstakes for Terrence Romeo?

Coach Alex Compton changed the way his team plays for this season, putting more emphasis on putting up points on the board.

They led the league in points (95.9) and ended up with the fourth best offensive rating. What they basically did was increase the movement of the ball, and tried to find good looks. That settled them to be the fourth best team, in terms of assists.

On the defensive end, they erupted for disruption. They are the 2nd best in terms of stealing the ball, 9.8, and in forcing turnovers.

Combine those two, and you have a team that flows greatly from side-to-side.

So, enter Terrence Romeo.

Let us start on the defensive end. Romeo is the kind of player that will not put enough focus on defense, because of his attention on offense. Nevertheless, if you watch him play, especially in one-on-one, he puts the effort.

He is also quick enough, to be disruptive. Alaska has the kind of the system that can cover up for his shortcomings.

On the offensive end, Terrence Romeo will surely help them score more. I have been digging in the past that this team badly needs a player that can attack the basket, and score inside. A playmaker who gets the attention of the opponents and find his teammates.

Terrence can be that guy.

And with the range of Terrence, the Aces can expect more breathing room. Which could be vital for drive-happy duo of Jeron Teng and Calvin Abueva.

So, what can Alaska offer to Globalport?

How about Vic Manuel and Chris Banchero?

Vic Manuel is a stud inside, but his size and defense, do not make him an impactful player. Banchero is a very good starter and a defensive stalwart, but he is inconsistent and injury prone.

Combine the value of those two, and I think that is enough to get the "yes" of Globalport.
