Is the Shaquille O'neal of the PBA, coming?

Shaquille O'Neal is not the greatest basketball player ever. He may not even be part of the top 5. But, there is no doubt that he is the most dominant force that basketball has ever seen.

What made him dominant was his anti-physic and anti-logic agility for his size. He was playing over 300 pounds in his career and he did not play like one.

In the PBA, there is one guy that can follow his footsteps. Moala Tautuaa is a 6'7 player who weighs 245 lbs. In the PBA universe, that is equivalent to the 7'1 300 plus lbs of Shaq.

Just like Shaq, Mo Tautuaa was also the #1 pick and that happened in the 2015 draft. Of course, we are all familiar with the disappointments that Tautuaa had bring to the league.

But, with a new squad, can he finally start to climb up the individual power ranking of the league?

When he was in TNT, he was not properly developing. Instead of putting him as part of the core of the team, he was instead used as a piece of their dribble-drive offense. And Tautuaa was not even properly utilize in the offense.

I think he should have been more of a play-starter, rather than a pick-provider who will catch-and-shoot, once in a while. Moala is not the most intelligent basketball player in the league, and that led him to make a lot of wrong decisions.

Globalport could be a much better fit. Globalport is a fast-pace team who take a lot of outside shots. Of course, it will be a huge mistake to let him be part of the long-bomb crew. His role should be the playmaker in the elbow.

He should have the green light to attack and drive to the basket, as much as possible. They should also try to establish him inside and let him post up.

Lastly, they should run a lot of Pringle-Tautuaa pick-and-roll. The Castro-Tautuaa pick-and-roll was devastating, but TNT failed to maximize it. Globalport should not repeat the same mistake.

I strongly believe that Moala's confidence has been lacking with how TNT played him. If he get it back, I expect him to be a much better player.

It is up to Globalport now, to do that.
