TRADE RUMORS: A Big Trade in the Table for SMC Sister Teams?

According to the #1 source of PBA Trades, a possible transaction between sister teams could happen soon. According to the social media post, the trade could be two guards for a bigman.

Basically, we can limit the possible teams into six. TNT, NLEX, Meralco, San Miguel, Ginebra, and Magnolia.

Although, we should also remember that in a trade between sister franchises, we need a third team to be involved.
If it in the SMC side, the logical scenario is for Magnolia to receive the bigman and they have the deepest guard rotation out of the three.

The question now is, which of the two, between San Miguel and Ginebra, need guards?

Both do need guards and both teams have interesting bigs that they may trade.

Ginebra could finally unload Greg Slaughter after years of believing that he will get healthy and carry this team to dominance.

Let us assume the most intriguing deal, which is Greg Slaughter. If a third team is involved, I expect Magnolia to give up three players/assets because they need to pay the third team.

One possible deal is Jio Jalalon, Robbie Herndon and the 2018 1st of Magnolia. That way, the 2018 1st can go to the third team who will add to the package that will be delivered to Ginebra.

Okay, maybe the deal is not that huge. It could be Raymond Aguilar or Jervy Cruz finding their way to Magnolia.

On the other hand, San Miguel could make the biggest move by a Kuya, by sending their price 2017 draftee to the Magnolia Hotshots. It could be a simple, "we want a better challenge" move. There is a big chance Christian Standhardinger will never reach his full potential playing under the San Miguel banner.

The possible return could also be the package that I hypothesized for Greg Slaughter. Which could be the right move for San Miguel because Fajardo is still young but their guard rotation is already old.

A small deal could involve Gabby Espinas or Yancy De Ocampo.

Overall, I don't think we will be having a big trade this early into the Commissioner's Cup. So, if a trade will really happen, I expect it to be a small one.
