2018 Com. Cup Imports Power Ranking: The Rise of the New Breeds

As expected, the imports are ruling the 2018 Commissioner's Cup. So, who are playing their best ball today? And who could be replaced soon?

#9 GBP - Malcolm White
He has the most underwhelming production in this list. His 23 points, 12.2 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 1.7 blocks per game is nothing to sniff about. But he should do more, especially now that Globalport badly needs an offensive force. Add his 3.8 turnovers and 5.8 fouls per game and Malcolm is not helping that much.

#8 PHX - James White
James has been the athletic and physical import that Phoenix wanted. He is averaging 25.3 points, 13.3 rebounds, 2.3 assists, 2.5 blocks and 1.8 steals. His defensive tenacity has been a great fit to the offensive firepower of their locals.

#7 BGSM - Justin Brownlee
Brownlee has a proven track record in the PBA. He will surely deliver on both ends of the court. In the latest ABL season, he produced 21.8 points, 10.2 rebounds, 6.3 assists, 1.6 steals, 1.6 blocks and 36% 3FG per game. I think, he must be more of a playmaker in this conference because there are a lot of great defensive imports.

#6 NLEX - Arnett Moultrie
Arnett is playing very well. He is averaging 26.3 points, 15.3 rebounds, 4.8 assists, 2.0 steals and 1.5 blocks per game. Unfortunately, that kind of production only helped NLEX to reach a 1-4 record. Arnett can hit midrange shots consistently, and that has helped them open up the driving lane.

#5 SMB - Renaldo Balkman
Balkman has returned and made his presence felt in his first game against Phoenix. He delivered 32 points, 13 rebounds, 3 assists and 3 steals. His scoring moves are only a few, but his grit and aggression help him a lot in putting the ball to the basket. And with his defense, I think he is the best fit for the Beermen.

#4 MER - Arinze Onuaku
His 20.4 points, 5.8 assists, 15.8 rebounds, 2.2 steals and 1.8 blocks are not as eye-catching as the statline of the other imports because his points is pretty low.  But, his 65% FG stands out and if you watch Meralco plays, you will appreciate the impact of Arinze. They run their offense through him and his wide body and that has been a key reason why they are 3-2 today.

#3 ALA - Antonio Campbell
He is the best three-point shooting import this conference. He is hitting 38% of his 7.8 three-point attempts. In short, he delivers three long bombs per game and that is the third best in this conference. Add the fact that he is the third best rebounder with his 17.0 per game and you have a pretty unique machine.

#2 ROS - Reginald Johnson
Who is the biggest player in this conference? Johnson. His size will not equate to any numbers but if you watch them play, you can see how it affects their opponent and their offense. Players bounce off him. His picks and screens open up his teammates. He is manufacturing 25.0 points, 17.2 rebounds, 3.8 assists and 52% FG.

#1 DYIP - John Fields
We are all living in the fields of John Fields. In 3 games, he is averaging 31.7 points, 15.3 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 2.0 blocks. The amazing thing about his 31.7 average points is the fact that he is not a chucker. He is shooting 60% in the field, making him the most unstoppable scorer in this conference. And that type of import is what Columbia is looking for.
