PBA Rumors: Tiu is retiring soon?

Coach Norman Black floated the possibility of Chris Tiu calling it a career, last Sunday. Which is actually a real possibility because Chris revealed three years ago that his plan was only to play for his rookie contract!

This was the exact quote from Chris in 2015 when he talked about the end of his rookie contract. " I initially intended to play in the PBA for just one contract period, but now I’m reconsidering because I never thought I would enjoy playing basketball this much in this level."

He postponed that plan for three years because of various reasons. But, the postponement will come to an end and there is a big chance that it will happen this season.

Coach Norman made a  good point that Chris Tiu is playing relaxed this season, which is a good indicator that he is just enjoying his last several games in the league.

Chris Tiu is having his best conference in a while. He is producing 12.4 points, 3.1 rebounds, 5.8 assists, 43% 3FG and 1.2 steals per game.

With the way he is hitting shots in the crunchtime, it would be dumb for the management of Rain or Shine to not try to lure him in playing a few more seasons after this one.

Overall, I expect to find out about this in the near future. I am pretty sure some reporters out there will ask him about it.
