Three Post Scorers that Magnolia can Trade For

Magnolia is in a tough situation after injuries hit their two primary bigs, Ian Sangalang and Marc Pingris.

And that showed in their 3-4 slate. Coach Chito Victolero admitted that they badly need an inside scorer to help them salvage this season.

If they really want to have one, there is only one way and that is through trade. So, who should they target? Here are the three.

P.S. Do not dream about Vic Manuel. He is already the main man in Alaska.

Jay Washington
Jay could be the best low-cost high-return target in the market. With the presence of Reggie Johnson, Washington is now relegated to 9.5 minutes per game. His offensive repertoire can match-up with anyone.

And of course, Jay can score inside. What is good about him is, he will also bring the ability to hit outside shots, making their frontline rotation more dangerous.

Joachim Thoss
Although this will be a long shot because of the history of Alaska and Thoss, Magnolia can still try. What if Magnolia offers their 2018 1st for him? It will be hard for Alaska to decline a 1st round pick for an old bigman who is playing in his last leg.

For Magnolia, the acquisition would bolster them in the short term. Thoss has been one of the most consistent post-scorer in the league in the last ten years. He will also bring playmaking in the post and in the elbow that Magnolia lacks.

He can also teach Ian Sangalang, Rodney Brondial and Kyle Pascual some of his tricks.

Christian Standhardinger
It is time for the SMC heads to interfere. For San Miguel Beermen, he is a luxury. For Magnolia Hotshots, he will fill a need. It is time for the SMC heads to show the Magnolia fans that they also care for the blue-franchise. Make it happen.
