Hot Takes! Coach Tim Cone wants Stanley Pringle?

The elite fans of Stanley Pringle continue to add up and express their fandom with the strong point guard. It all started with coach Tab Baldwin calling him the best point guard in Asia.

After their game against Brgy. Ginebra San Miguel, coach Tim Cone was awed by the performance of The Beard and made this statement. "We came in trying to scheme him (Pringle) and we couldn't get anything on our schemes. He was just too quick. When we try to contain him, he was hitting threes. And when we try to get on his shots, he blew by us and got layups against our bigs. And he even put our bigs in foul trouble. Man, he was incredible."

What coach Tim Cone was saying was easy to summarize. Stanley Pringle was unstoppable. In that game, he poured 34 points, 5 rebounds, 7 assists and 3 steals. He is elite in hitting shots in the three levels of the court.

Coach Tim Cone even added this statement, "we talked about two imports during our pregame talk, and he certainly played like one."

His performance in the 2018 Philippine Cup should back that up. He averaged 20.2 points, 4.6 assists, 7.7 rebounds, 1.5 steals and 2.9 3-pointers made per game. He was the 2nd best in scoring, seventh in assists, 17th in rebounding and 2nd in 3-pointers made per game.

Yes. He played above the level of a local player. Just like June Mar Fajardo.

The question now is, is coach Tim Cone sending a signal to the Ginebra management that he wants Stanley Pringle?

Why? LA Tenorio is already 34 years old. Ginebra may need a new starting point guard soon. They do not even have a young point guard on their bench. Unless the plan is to play Scottie in the point in the future.

Even if that is the plan, Stanley is also capable of playing the SG position. Actually, if Scottie and Stanley play together, there is no need to define who is the PG and SG. Both of them are capable on both ends of the court.

And I think coach Tim would love to have that backcourt. Will the Ginebra management make their moves?
