The Three Teams That Need a Trade Now

(c) PBA Media Bureau

We are down to our last conference so it will not be shocking if the teams are not looking to make big trades already. But if they really care about their run in this conference, these teams should jolt their team by making trades.

Brgy Ginebra San Miguel
Injuries. Ginebra has the longest injury lists in the league today with Japeth Aguilar, Greg Slaughter, Jervy Cruz, Sol Mercado, Julian Sargeant, Joe Devance and Art Dela Cruz. Yes, they are still winning but what if the injuries persist in the playoffs? There is no way Ginebra can survive with just around 11 healthy guys.

San Miguel Beermen
I think the status of being the team to beat has entered the heads of their core players. What I mean is, I don't see the normal urgency of winning from their players. It is like the players do not care that much because, at the end of the day, they will remain to be one of the two title favorites.

One way to unclog that is to make roster changes. Alex Cabagnot and Arwind Santos are veterans who will soon reach the downhill of their careers. Actually, by simply moving one of them will provide more minutes to hungrier young guys like Brian Heruela and Matthew Ganuelas-Rosser.

Meralco Bolts
I think this conference will finally open the eyes of the Meralco management that their frontline is below average in the league. RDO was supposed to fix it but he is not the same best PF of the league kind of player.

What they need is a big who can protect the rim, at least. Their defense in the rim has been really bad even with Allen Durnham. I will not be surprised though if they just let this conference play out and maybe improved their draft position.
