Meet the 2018 Fil-Foreigners Draft Applicants!

The deadline for Filipino-Foreigners to apply for the draft was last October 26, 2018. Seven ballers answered the call.

Leading the charge is CJ Perez of the Lyceum Pirates. There is no need for any introduction for CJ Perez. This will be his second season competing for the NCAA Most Valuable Player award.

Joining him are Matt Salem, Carlos Isit, Paul Varilla, Robbie Manalang, John Ragasa and Trevis Jackson.

Matt Salem has a lot of hype when he joined the National University in UAAP. Unfortunately, he did not live up to it. His career numbers of 7.4 points, 5.1 rebounds and 33% 3FG per game were still respectable.

Trevis Jackson was one of the elite players of the 2018 season of PBA D-League. He averaged 16.7 points, 4.7 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 1.7 steals per game. He was compared to Chris Ross in the past.

Robbie Manalang was the starting point guard of Adamson Falcons last year. He averaged 9.7 points and 2.5 assists per game.

Paul Varilla played for the University of the East and accumulated career averages of 7.0 points, 4.8 rebounds, 1.5 assists and 35.6% 3FG per game.

John Ragasa could be the most interesting name because he is an unknown with a good pedigree. He recently played in the 2018 season of the Thailand Basketball League. He produced 14.0 points, 4.1 rebounds, 3.5 assists, 1.7 steals and 35.1% 3FG per game.

TBL may not be good as ABL but in that league, teams are also allowed to have two foreign imports.

Carlos Isit played in Mapua.
