Parks, Tratter and etc. can still apply for the 2018 draft

After the announcement of the seven Filipino-foreigners who applied for the 2018 PBA draft. A lot of fans thought that Parks and other amateurs with foreign-sounding surnames will not be available for the upcoming draft.

Fortunately, that is not true. The rules of the PBA regarding Fil-Foreign is so simplified that it will sound outdated.

What is the rule?

If you are born outside the Philippines, you are considered as Filipino-foreigner. In short, even if you have foreign blood, if your mother gave birth to you in the Philippines, you are a local in the eyes of the PBA!

And that is the case of Bobby Ray Parks. Parks was born in Paranaque. So, he is a local and he still has more than a month to think about it.

Another top guy who can still file for the upcoming draft is Abu Tratter who was born in Laguna. Tratter is considered to be the top bigman of this class.

Another potential 1st round pick who can still file for the upcoming draft is Owen Graham. In our research, he was raised in the Philippines, so there is a good chance that he was born here.

Just to make sure that I cover everything. Robert Bollick and Andre Paras are also local players so they can still apply for the upcoming draft.

For those who are sad because they thought the upcoming draft will be shallow, you can smile now.

The deadline for local players will be on December 3, 2018.
