PBA Trade Rumors: Coach Caloy or Almazan?

(c) PBA Media Bureau

Raymond Almazan has returned to his family and will finally communicate with the franchise that drafted him, 3rd overall.

Almazan's agent Danny Espiritu talked with Rain or Shine board representative Atty. Mamerto Mondragon on Monday to discuss what transpired. Reading between the lines, I think Danny just presented the demands of Almazan.

According to the most prominent player's agent in the league, Almazan and Atty. Mondragon is set to sit down also and talk about the future.

The bombshell though was provided again by Spin.ph. The website revealed that their sources told them about the root of the problem and that is the relationship of the Dark Knight and coach Caloy Garcia.

In short, ROS could be reaching the point that they need to choose between the two.

So, which one should they choose?

Maybe you will say coach Caloy because of what Almazan have done. Raymond was selfish enough to leave the team in the air. We also heard about his grievance to join a new team. So why would they keep that kind of player?

The answer is simple. He is one of the few centers who have an elite impact on both ends and these bigs are the ones who are determining the hierarchy of power in the league!

So, I think they need to let go of coach Caloy and bring in a coach that can maximize the Dark Knight!

Coach Caloy is a good coach but his performance up to this point should be enough to conclude that he cannot lead the Painters into a championship.

In the last five conferences that he handled, Rain or Shine only managed to reach the semifinals, once.

Remember also that we have rumors in the past about the other players having a problem with coach Caloy.

Add all those things and I think, the better decision is to change the coach.
