Trade Rumor: Predicting the Six Teams interested in Almazan

(c) PBA Media Bureau

The ownership of Rain or Shine speak-up about the Raymond Almazan situation. According to Raymond Yu, one of the owners of the Elasto Painters, they are not interested to trade the missing in action bigman.

Even if they are not interested to trade him. They need to think about it if Almazan continues to be in AWOL. He still has a year left in his contract.

So are they going to allow him to make disappearing acts and disrupt the flow of the team in the upcoming season?

According to Spin.ph, there are six teams who are willing to acquire one of the most unique centers in the league.

So, who are these six teams?

Let me predict.

TNT Ka-Tropa
They have a need for a bigman. Troy Rosario, Kelly Williams, Harvey Carey and Frank Golla is a not a frontline rotation that can handle the frontlines of the elite teams.

NLEX Road Warriors
I am pretty sure coach Yeng Guiao would love to get Raymond back into his line-up. Almazan with Kiefer Ravena next year will be an interesting combo.

Magnolia Hotshots
Even though they have a long list of centers, they actually lack elite ones. They only have one in Ian Sangalang. Rafi Reavis has been steady but he is not already capable of providing quality rim protection for more than 15 minutes.

Meralco Bolts
The Bolts should make a move now or they will be wasting the prime years of Baser Amer and Chris Newsome. They badly need a center because RDO is not an all-star caliber player already.

Phoenix Fuel Masters
Phoenix was the one who traded for Calvin Abueva. That trade basically anointed them as playoff-chaser. So, they should not stop there and try to acquire another quality player. Calvin Abueva, Matthew Wright, Raymond Almazan and Jason Perkins will be a very interesting core in the next few years.

Alaska Aces
Another team with a big hole in their frontline. Vic Manuel badly needs a reliable partner inside and Almazan could be a perfect fit. With Almazan's ability to hit threes, it will open up the paint for Vic. On the other hand, Almazan's length will be a great complement to the strength of Manuel on the defensive end.
