Trade Rumor: Who is the next player who will go AWOL?

(c) PBA Media Bureau

The primary source of trade news made an interesting tweet yesterday. Another player is planning to follow the path of Calvin Abueva.

First things first, I don't think the situations of Almazan and Abueva were the same. Almazan was not all about a trade but also about his connection to the franchise.

STANLEY PRINGLE
Pringle is no doubt a top-10 player in the league. And I think he is the only top-10 player who is not playing with a fellow top-10 player or even a top-20 player.

After four seasons in the league, Pringle only tasted the semifinals, once! I am pretty sure he is very itchy to try and reach the ultimate round of the playoffs.

Actually, Batang Pier had been trying to build a contending team. They are just failing to make the right picks to surround Pringle.

I will not be shocked if Pringle will suddenly decide that he is tired of carrying a team that has a ceiling of reaching the semifinals.

Remember, that it was rumored in 2014 that he was looking for a salary that will match his current rate outside the Philippines. Even the maximum salary of the PBA will not much what he was rumored to be asking.

If Northport went the under-the-table route, there is a chance that the costs will be too much already. Especially, that they have failed to build a contending team around him.

BEAU BELGA
Out of the three players that were rumored in the past, who wanted to leave Rain or Shine, Belga was the one who has not made a move.

Belga signed a maximum contract in 2016. Which means he only has a year-left in his contract.

Actually, Belga was rumored to be asking for a trade, way earlier than Almazan and Jericho Cruz.

Ironically, he has not made any action about it.

He suffered another foot injury last week. With his injury history and his age, Belga should realize that his next contract could be his last. He may try to get the most that he can.

How?

He needs to get to the two conglomerates.
