We are now down to the last two teams for the season. Which one will end up with the last trophy of the 2018 season?

Alaska Aces or Magnolia Hotshots?

Let us continue our series of awarding the Most Valuable Player of each team. For today, we will feature the two most promising young squad in the league, Phoenix  Fuel Masters and Blackwater Elite.

And of course the most popular franchise in the country, Brgy. Ginebra San Miguel.

Blackwater Elite - JP Erram
JP continue his rise to the elite rank of centers in the league. This season, he was finally recognized by other teams as the focal point of the Elite. That led to more defensive attention which forced him to shoot inefficiently. His FG% for the three conferences were lower than 49%.

His impact on other aspects of the game was huge though. He averaged more than 1.3 blocks per game, 8.0 rebounds per game and 1.3 assists per game.

Governors' Cup is their best conference and John Pinto was their best player in Gov. Cup. But, Erram was still effective as he ended up with the 2nd best +/-.

Phoenix Fuel Masters - Matthew Wright
Wright legitimizes himself as a legit ace player this season. Wright has the handle to break down the defense, the ability to make accurate passes and has the most important skill today, pull-up from beyond the arc.

Overall, he averaged more than 14 points, 4 rebounds, 3 assists and 1.5 made threes in each conference. Wright's ability to stuff the statsheet is a good indication that he will be an MVP candidate in the future.

Brgy. Ginebra San Miguel - Japeth Aguilar
Ginebra was the hardest team to decide on. They have three legitimate contenders in Japeth Aguilar, LA Tenorio and Scottie Thompson.

Tenorio was steady all throughout the season, averaging more than 11 points, 1.5 steals and 2.5 rebounds in each conference. The problem with him was his inefficiency in each conference. He never shot better than 40%.

On the other hand, Scottie Thompson remained to be a triple-double threat all throughout the season. He was their best rebounder in two of the three conferences. His rebounding is his most renowned skill but his ability to make plays for his teammates and break down the defense deserved some highlight.

Although Scottie was awesome, Japeth was way more dominant. Aguilar ended up averaging more than 16.9 points, 6 rebounds, 48% FG and 1.7 assists. This season, he was more intelligent and ended up averaging less than 2 turnovers in the last two conferences.

His impact on both ends of the court was pretty obvious.
