2018 Team MVP - San Miguel / TNT / NLEX

The 2018 season of the PBA is on its final month. This will turn out to be the longest season in the history of the league due to the adjustments and leeways for our national basketball team.

The Most Valuable Player award is the most coveted individual recognition in team sports. Knowing that the value of a player is felt by the team. Let us make it more specific.

Let us find out who are the MVPs of each team in the PBA.

For today, we will check on San Miguel, TNT and NLEX.

SMB - June Mar Fajardo
This is the easiest choice in this series. Fajardo is on his way to win a historic 5th straight MVP and I think he is bound to get at least two more.

His value in the team was magnified by what happened in the Governors' Cup. San Miguel struggled early and ended up with a humiliating quarterfinals exit because he was not 100%.

It was not wrong to conclude that the line-up of San Miguel should be capable to reach the semifinals even without Fajardo. It seems like that idea is false.

TNT - Jayson Castro
Terrence Romeo finally showed what he can do in this final conference. But The Blur was so steady in this season. With a lot of guards who needs the ball, Castro showcased a well-rounded version of himself.

In the three conferences, The Blur averaged more than 14 points, 3 rebounds and 5 assists per game. He basically played like a traditional point guard in this season and he did very well.

His blazing first step may not be as fast and amazing as before but his vision, decision making and dribbling are still at a very high level.

Is he still the best PG in the league? I don't think that is the case already but for the TNT, the answer was a clear yes.

NLEX - Kiefer Ravena
Larry Fonacier has a good case for this citation because of his consistency in this season. But, let us remember that NLEX managed to reach the semifinals of the Philippine Cup, being led by a rookie phenom named Kiefer Ravena.

Ravena manufactured 15.5 points, 3.5 rebounds, 5.4 assists, 1.9 steals and 34% 3FG in the All-Filipino Cup. Kiefer showed a skillset of a superstar. He even managed to hit game-winning shots and provided a glimpse of his ability to lead.

He was even more lethal in the five games that he played in the Commissioner's Cup. He manufactured 17.2 points, 5.6 assists and 44% 3FG per game.
