Trade Rumors: Imagining Beau Belga with San Miguel Beermen

During the tune-up games of our national team, Beau Belga made some interesting comments.

He said, jokingly, that he already wants to be shipped to San Miguel because he enjoyed the chemistry of the four Beermen that played with him.

He was combined with Christian Standhardinger, Alex Cabagnot, Marcio Lassiter, and Arwind Santos and they did well together.

Belga said that he will enjoy adjusting to the well-oiled machine like the Beermen.

But if you think about it, Standhardinger is just a new entrant to San Miguel. So, I do not think the chemistry of San Miguel was really at his peak during the game.

So, was Belga just joking or is he implying something much deeper?

Maybe. He was rumored in the past that he already wanted out of the franchise after coach Yeng left. Maybe, this is his own way of making a move to finally realize that postponed objective.

Now, what can Belga provide San Miguel?

Outside shooting, physicality and high level of basketball awareness. If you think about it, San Miguel does need a bigman who can shoot from the outside and will provide physicality.

We did not anticipate Kelly Nabong to play a big role in San Miguel but coach Austria saw the need to give him minutes.

I think Belga is a better shooter and a much better offensive player than Nabong. He will not steal shots from their star players but will instead complement them.

The last question to ponder is, is Belga to San Miguel really possible?

I think, yes.
