Who is the Best Import of the 2018 Gov. Cup?

Allen Durnham and Justin Brownlee have been the faces of the 3rd conference in the last two years. This season, we finally saw two other imports rise to the occasion and put their names into the conversation.

Choosing who is the Best Import should be easy. The candidates should always be the reinforcements of the Finals participants.

Why?

Because imports were hired to help their team reach the pinnacle!

So, who should be that guy? Mike Harris or Romeo Travis?

PRODUCTION
Romeo Travis put up an impressive statline of 22.7 points, 15.1 rebounds, 4.4 assists, 2.2 steals, 45% FG and 21% 3FG. Travis is steady in every aspect of defense but his efficiency on offense is a big negative for him.

Harris though was monstrous with his numbers. He averaged 29.8 points, 21.7 rebounds, 2.6 assists, 53% FG and 33% 3FG per game. Harris is a rebounding genius and also a superb scorer from outside to inside.

For this aspect, Harris is way better.

VALUE
In the series-clinching game 4, Romeo Travis carried Magnolia with his 50 points, 13 rebounds and 20/26 game. It showed how valuable Travis was for his team.

But if we look much deeper, we will see the difference in value.

Both teams have three locals who averaged double-digits in scoring. In Magnolia, they have Paul Lee (17.3), Mark Barroca (13.1) and Ian Sangalang (10.9). In Alaska, they have Vic Manuel (15.9), Chris Banchero (15.8) and Simon Enciso (10.8).

But, Magnolia still have 3 players averaging more than 6 points while Alaska only has one.

Overall, Magnolia has a much deeper team than Alaska. That helped them cover up for the inefficiency of Travis.

THE BEST IMPORT
The Best Import of the 2018 Gov. Cup should be Mike Harris.
