Trade Rumor: A BIG Trade?

(c) PBA Media Bureau

Some facebook pages with huge followers posted about an impending trade that will involve a BIG time player.

The emphasis on the word "big" points to a player who plays for the Elasto Painters. Yes, we are talking about James Yap.

According to one of the posts, the trade will involve Rain or Shine and San Miguel Beermen. The post said that it will involve big-name players. It also said that it will be a swap.

So, if James Yap is on his way to San Miguel, which one of SMB's core player is possibly going to Rain or Shine?

I think, there are only two candidates.

Alex Cabagnot and Arwind Santos.

If you are an ROS fan, do not dream about the other core players of San Miguel because Yap is already 36 years old and he is not even a starting caliber player already.

Alex Cabagnot is also 36 years old but he is way more productive than James Yap.

Arwind Santos is 37 years old but with the way he was playing, he can still start for Rain or Shine. Actually, he is a great fit for the Painters because of a lot of his above average skills.

If this rumor is real, this is a good move for the Elasto Painters. Yap is just providing around 70% of what Paul Lee could have given to them. And it seems like he is failing to increase their fan base in the rate that they anticipated.
