2019 PBA Draft: Joshua Munzon is here!

Last Monday, the 2019 PBA D-League may have provided a prologue to the real 2019 PBA draft because Joshua Munzon ended up as #1 pick!

It was a birthday present of a sort because he turned 24 last Monday.

So, is Munzon really worth the top pick in the upcoming draft?

If you want to find out, you can easily watch his highlights and be amazed by what he can do in the court.

Actually, his statistics can easily paint how high his quality is as a player.

His career averages in the ABL were 24.5 points, 38% FG, 28% 3FG, 7.8 rebounds, 4.3 assists and 2. 2.2 steals per game.

Yes, he is a volume scorer. I will not say that he is an inefficient scorer at this point because he played in the league where two opposing imports existed.

They also played a scheme with him as the focal point. He handled the ball a lot and was asked to decide and breakdown the defense.

His 2.2 steals per game is a great indication that he has a high-quality defensive instinct. With his length and activity, that will easily translate to the PBA.

That means, he has an elite two-way potential which will easily push him to the cream of the crop of the league.

In a report in TV5 ESPN, Joshua stated that he wanted to play point guard in the PBA!

That is a good indication of his willingness to be a team player in the pro ranks. I do not think his handle is already there to be a full-time PG but with his height and size, he could be a dominant quarterback in the Philippines.
