Early Season PBA Hot Takes! Parks, Perez and Bollick will NOT be Traded

If you are a PBA fan, you should be happy to know that the league could be improving for the better.

You want a piece of evidence?

The top 3 picks of the 2018 draft are still on their teams and the season already began! That was not the case in 2017 and 2015.

In 2017, we saw one of the most laughable trade in the league, the Christian Standhardinger to Kia exchange. In 2015, the SMC fans went riot because TNT managed to grab the #1 and #2 pick of the said draft.

So, it was a breath of fresh air that the cream of the crop of a draft pool is still with the team that owned the pick that was used to get them.

But of course, the entire offseason was full of trade rumors centered around Bobby Ray Parks and CJ Perez.

So, why am I suggesting that none of the three will get traded?

The PBA will intervene
I strongly believe that the management of the league will realize the positive effect of keeping the three on their current teams.

Columbian is suddenly an interesting team because Perez can actually carry them. You like him or not, but I am pretty sure you are also anticipating the debut of Parks for Blackwater. Lastly, Northport may suddenly turn themselves into a contender if Bollick maintains his level of play.

Those things will also be felt by the PBA fans so the longer the three stays with their team, the harder will be the negative reactions of the PBA universe if PBA let a trade happen.

Thus, I am anticipating them to be defensive and retain those three with their current teams for at least this season.

The moment those three enter their sophomore years and a new batch of rookies joins the league, the PBA universe will soften it up for them.

Columbian, Blackwater and Northport will be satisfied
If Columbian and Northport are serious about contending, they will be happy with the performance of CJ Perez and Robert Bollick, respectively. Both wings were the driving force of the first wins of their squads.

Bobby Ray Parks will not play in this conference but I believed they will avoid a trade for now and wait for him, as stated by their owner.

Overall, I just want to be positive about it. I saw signs that it could really happen but I am not actually confident about it.
