Free-Agency News: TNT will give Washington another chance

It seems like there is a special bond between Jay Washington and TNT Ka Tropa because Jay Washington always found his way back to TNT.

First, was in 2005 when TNT chose him as the #1 pick of that draft class over Alex Cabagnot, Mac Cardona and the others who were drafted after him.

Then in 2014, TNT claimed him back via a trade with Globalport, in exchange for a 2018 2nd  round pick, Harold Arboleda and Noy Baclao.

And now this, signing Jay Washington after being released by the Rain or Shine Elasto Painters.

Rain or Shine left him out of their line-up after he was the last to arrive for their training camp.

And in terms of production last season, it is hard to argue with the decision of Rain or Shine. Jay only managed 3.1 points, 2.7 rebounds, 0.9 assists, 31.8% FG and 23.5% 3FG per game.

Of course, Washington will never return to his all-star form at 37 years old. But, he will bring a skill that TNT value the most.

He can hit three-pointers.

Unfortunately, he may not do it efficiently, already. He has a good form though and with the emphasis of TNT on shooting, there is a chance that the quality of the long bombs that he will take will be much better than in Rain or Shine, which could push up the efficiency.

The biggest question for him is his work ethic at this point.

Especially with the fact that he will try to get some minutes from younger bigs like Michael Miranda and Yousef Taha, and TNT legends in Kelly Williams and Harvey Carey.
