The three teams that need to make a trade this FIBA break

(c) PBA Media Bureau

The PBA still have 11 days before their next game to give way to the last window of the FIBA Asia qualifier.

This is a good opportunity for some teams to make necessary changes to their line-ups because they will be having more than a week to incorporate those additions.

So, which three teams are badly in need of a trade?

NLEX
Coach Yeng Guiao was right that his current guard group is not good enough to support their impressive frontline and reliable wing rotation. Erram is having the best conference in his career with his 15.7 points, 8.7 rebounds, 2.8 assists, 3.3 blocks, 51% FG and 41% 3FG per game. Let us hope NLEX will not waste that.

MAGNOLIA
Is it time to panic for Magnolia? Maybe not because two of their three losses were actually close. But they should remember that the elimination round is only good for 11 games. With only eight games left, the chances of them getting into the playoffs is slimmer than the chance of them being eliminated.

What do they need? They need a bigman who can hit from the outside. Their two most used bigs are non-shooters, Ian Sangalang and Rafi Reavis. Rodney Brondial has been attempting and knocking down threes but they need to add another one.

It doesn't need to be a big name. How about Yancy de Ocampo? He can hit from the outside and has the height to play at least 10 minutes against the elite teams.

ALASKA
At this point, Alaska should not trust the health of its players. Vic Manuel, Simon Enciso, Jayvee Casio and Kevin Racal missed their first three games due to injuries. Jeron Teng, Chris Banchero and Sonny Thoss are also susceptible to injuries.

What they need now is to get a player who can breakdown the defense, either inside or outside. How about making a call to San Miguel and inquire about one of their core players? There is no harm in trying.

Two underrated targets are Paolo Taha and Allein Maliksi. Two players who are willing to take the responsibility of cracking the defense and taking shots.
