Three Teams that should consider signing Chris Ellis

Is Chris Ellis considering a return to the Philippine Basketball Association? I do not know.

But, there are at least three teams in the PBA that should consider contacting him and asked about it.

BLACKWATER
The team that he was traded for but never played for may need him more now, than two years ago. That is because of the lack of reliable play-creators in their rotation. Other than Allein Maliksi, I do not see another reliable guy who can create himself and for others, consistently.

Thus, Ellis may want to consider to honor the trade in the past. There is a good chance that he will be a starter right away, after some practices and familiarity with the scheme of the Elite.

NLEX
I think coach Yeng Guiao is still looking for someone to take the Gabe Norwood-role in his scheme. I think he was using Larry Fonacier and Kenneth Ighalo for that role. Gabe is much longer than those two, just like Chris Ellis.

If you remember the play of Ellis, defense was his main playing card. He is a hardworker and capable of gluing the defense because of his explosiveness and athleticism. Give him a try coach Yeng and maybe you can still salvage 75% of his potential.

ALASKA
The Aces is suffering an epidemic called injuries. Thus, adding the most talented guy in the free-agent pool is a good idea. Kevin Racal and Simon Enciso may continue to miss games this conference so they badly need another body in their wing depth.

Add the fact that they are actually lacking some explosiveness and athleticism from their line-up. Ellis has the physical attributes to play the 2, 3 and 4 position. A five of Banchero, Teng, Ellis, CBC and Manuel is a modern hybrid five that is worth taking a look.
