2019 Phil. Cup Semis Prediction: Rain or Shine - Magnolia Game 7

(c) PBA Media Bureau

After six grueling games, Magnolia Hotshots and Rain or Shine Elasto Painters will settle it today! Who will meet San Miguel Beermen in the finals?

Let us predict!
X-Factors
1st Quarter
Points in the Paint
Mark Barroca

The 1st quarter has been a pivotal 12 minutes in the series. For five of the six games, the team that won the first quarter won the game. It speaks about how close the games have been that having the early lead provided a huge advantage.

Both teams are shooting pretty well from beyond the arc. I expect them to continue that in game 7. So, the team that will be able to score more inside would be nearer to the W. In the first six games, the one that scored more inside won the game.

Mark Barroca was hardly felt in the losses of Magnolia in the series. In the losses, he averaged 5.7 points, 25.9% FG, 1.7 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 2.7 turnovers per game. In their wins, he was delivering 10.3 points, 30.3% FG, 6.7 rebounds, 4 assists and 2.7 turnovers per game.

Prediction
This is a hard game to predict because the first six games told me that both teams do not have clear advantages.

Knowing coach Chito Victolero, I expect Magnolia to win the 1st quarter of game 7. Ian Sangalang has also exhibited that he can score against any bigs of Rain or Shine.

Even if Mark continues to struggle, I expect Magnolia to get two of the X-factors, which should be enough to deliver them the W.
