2019 Post Phil. Cup: Blackwater / NLEX / Alaska should trade...

Eight teams are currently preparing for the 2019 Commissioner's Cup. Other than choosing an import and practicing, this is also the opportunity for those eight teams to make some moves to upgrade their respective rosters.

I already gave my unsolicited advice to Ginebra in terms of who should be the players that they put on the trade block.

Let me also give my suggestion for Blackwater, NLEX and Alaska.

Blackwater - Allein Maliksi
Here is the key for the Elite, they need to put a player on the trade block that can actually give back some value. Some of their young players like Mac Belo and Raymar Jose are currently undervalued with what they have shown if we consider their age and their potential.

Thus, Maliksi is the best option. Maliksi was their best player in the Philippine Cup, manufacturing 16.5 points, 6.0 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 45% FG per game. Maliksi could be good enough to fetch them a quality bigman.

NLEX - Philip Paniamogan
Now that Kiefer Ravena's return is almost upon us, NLEX can now look to unload at least one of their plethora of guards. Paniamogan played the best in the Philippine Cup, making 8.4 points, 3.8 rebounds, 3.4 assists and 41% 3FG per game.

Of course, Philip will not provide them much. But, I can see a team out there who will give NLEX a forward or a bigman that fits better for the future of the team.

Alaska - Sonny Thoss
I know that Thoss has been a big part of the team for the past several years. He has been one of the key figures of the franchise in this decade. At this point though, with his size and pedigree, I am pretty sure Thoss is still overvalued by some team.

Yes, Alaska actually needs some frontline help so why should they trade their veteran center? Because we are already at the last two conferences where imports can cover up their holes and the younger bigs of Alaska need more minutes to sustain their development.
