PBA Trade Rumor: A Top Rookie is on the move?

(c) PBA Media Bureau

According to a reliable source, a big trade is being negotiated and it will involve one of the top rookies. The shocking part is, it will not be Bobby Ray Parks.

To reiterate, the trade is not yet a done deal. It is still on the table being negotiated. If no teams will back out, the source is confident that the trade will happen.

So, which teams could be involved?

The obvious ones are the teams with top rookies. I am talking about Columbian Dyip, Northport Batang Pier, Blackwater Elite, Meralco Bolts, and Rain or Shine Elasto Painters.

The hard thing to decipher is the term "top rookie".

If that means the top of the draft class, then we could be talking about the first six picks. But, if their performance in the Philippine Cup was considered to be called a top rookie, I do not think Paul Desiderio and Abu Tratter are part of the consideration.

Now, the bigger question is, who is/are the teams that do not have that top rookie, in the deal?

TNT is a possibility if the management of the franchise is still craving for more. I will also not forget about Brgy. Ginebra San Miguel who suffered an embarrassing quarterfinals exit.

Even Alaska Aces have a  good reason to make a move, especially with their two 2019 1st round picks.

A lot of possibilities are on the table. We just need to wait and see if the rumored deal will become a reality or just plain hearsay.
